This cedar deck renovation included a full resurfacing with fresh cedar decking, giving it a warm, rich tone that complements the rustic character of the log cabin. To elevate the view and maintain that natural feel, we installed our signature Maisy cable railing system with a cedar top rail. This combination provides a clean, modern line of sight while staying true to the organic aesthetic of the home.

Below the deck, we reimagined the skirting by swapping the old materials for a stone finish—a detail that blends seamlessly into the landscape and adds a grounded, architectural appeal. Matching stone steps were added for a cohesive and durable entryway to the lower area of the deck.

One of the major upgrades was on the upper floor, where we replaced a window with a sliding glass door, opening the space to a brand-new second-story deck. This addition is not only waterproofed for longevity but also features a warm cedar soffit, integrated lighting, and outdoor heaters—making it a four-season retreat. We also added a cedar privacy wall on one side to create an extra cozy, protected nook—ideal for slow mornings with coffee or quiet evenings under the stars.
